Rigid Analytical Surface Contact dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)

Name
Name Sets the name of the contact constraint that appears in the Simulation Navigator under the Simulation Objects Container node.
Description Sets the description.
Destination Folder
Simulation Objects Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the contact constraint will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command.
Master Node
Select Object Lets you select the Node to which the rigid surface will be attached.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Target Region (Slave)
Target Region Specifies a Surface Region or Edge Region as the second support of the contact constraint. For more information on the Samcef Regions, see Region dialog box (Simcenter Samcef).
Rigid Analytical Surface Definition
Rigid Surface (SURF) Specifies the Rigid Surface onto which the contact will occur. You can select an existing one or create a new one.For more information on how to create a rigid surface, see Rigid Surface Definition dialog box (Simcenter Samcef).
Frame (Vii) Specifies the rigid surface orientation CSYS. For more information, see the Samcef SURF element definition or the SURF parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Contact Sense (LC/LT) Lets you choose between a contact in Compression or a contact in Traction.Note: For more information about the Contact Sense, the Compression Length and the Traction Length, see Specifying the contact direction and gap clearance for the rigid-flexible contact (Simcenter Samcef).
Compression Length (LC) Appears when Contact Sense is set to Compression.Sets the distance threshold for a contact to change from an inactive status to an active status. For more information, see the LC parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Traction Length (LT) Appears when Contact Sense is set to Traction.Sets the distance threshold for a contact to change from an inactive status to an active status. For more information, see the LT parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Contact Configuration
Configuration Specifies the iteration method used in the contact algorithm: Coupled without Friction,, Coupled with Friction, Uncoupled without Friction or Uncoupled with Friction.Note: The Coupled iteration method is available only in nonlinear analysis. For more information, see the OPT parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Topology Search
Distance Slave Node to Surface (DCON) Sets the inactive distance (between the slave node and the target surface) above which no contact occurs. For more information, see the DCON parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Distance Slave Node to Master Node (DCOT) Sets the inactive distance (between the slave node and the master node) above which no contact occurs. For more information, see the DCOT parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Normal Behavior
Appears when Configuration is set to Coupled with Friction or Coupled without Friction.
Contact Type (OPCO) Specifies the contact type: ClassicalThe contact can be released.Contact remains closed once closedOnce the contact is closed, it remains closed.AlwaysThis is a bilateral contact. For more information, see the OPCO parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Relation between Pressure and Normal Distance (NPN/STIF) Appears when Configuration is set to Coupled with Friction.Specifies the Linear or the Nonlinear relation type.
Contact Stiffness (STIF) Appears when Relation between Pressure and Normal Distance is set to Linear.Lets you define the contact stiffness. For more information, see the STIF parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Penalty Function (NPEN) Appears when Relation between Pressure and Normal Distance is set to Nonlinear.Lets you define the contact penalty function. Use the Specify Field to define the function. For more information, see the NPEN parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Damping Function (UN1) Appears when Configuration is set to Coupled with Friction.Lets you define the damping function. Use the Specify Field to define the function. For more information, see the Samcef SURF definition of the Samcef .MDS command.
Tangential Behavior
Appears when Configuration is set to Coupled with Friction or Uncoupled with Friction.
Friction Coefficient (CF) Sets the friction coefficient. For more information, see the CF parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Friction Type (OPFR) Appears when Configuration is set to Coupled with Friction.Specifies the friction type:NoNo friction at all.ClassicalClassical friction algorithm.InfiniteInfinite friction. The value of the Friction Coefficient is ignored.Function of VelocityThe friction coefficient depends on the relative velocity. For more information, see the OPFR parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Regularization Parameter (TOL) Appears when Configuration is set to Coupled with Friction and Uncoupled with Friction.Sets the regularization value when friction is a function of velocity. For more information, see the TOL parameter of the Samcef .MDS command.
Improve Convergence Appears when Configuration is set to Coupled with Friction and Friction Type (OPFR) is set to Classical.Clear this check box to enable the standard default convergence algorithm.
Friction Stiffness (STFR) Appears when the Improve Convergence check box is selected.Sets the friction stiffness between the friction stress and the relative displacement. The friction occurs along the Sliding Direction. For more information, see the SURF element definition of the Samcef .MDS command.
Output Requests
Select Reference Position for the Moment Lets you define select the reference position to compute the moment in the results.
Reference Position for the Moment Appears when the Select Reference Position for the Moment check box is selected. Define the reference position for the moment in the model.
Contact Results Specifies the contact-specific results. For more information, see the structural MACRO element in the Simcenter Samcef solver documentation.
Ancillary Display
For more details, see Ancillary Display dialog box (Simcenter Samcef).
