Storage dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)

Use this dialog box to create Storage modeling objects for the following types of analyses:

  • Structural nonlinear

  • Thermal

  • Linear transient response

  • Linear harmonic response

  • Standalone buckling

The options in the Storage Time Step and Storage Frequency groups let you define additional times at which results must be saved.

Modeling Object
Name Sets the name of the modeling object.
Label Sets a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object.
Storage Time Step
Imposed Time Specifies the extra times unit.
Imposed Time Specifies the extra times. Use a comma to separate each value. For more information, see the TIME parameter of the Samcef .SUBCASE command.
Imposed Time Step Available for thermal analyses.Lets you define a time step value for the saving strategy.
Imposed Time Step Value Available for thermal analyses.Appears when the Imposed Time Step check box is selected. Lets you define the time step value. For more information, see the TIME parameter of the Samcef .SUBCASE command.
Time Increment for Back-up (.SUB DTAR) Specifies the time increment for backup. For more information, see the DTAR parameter of the Samcef .SUBCASE command. In this case, all the results are archived at every time tar, where tar is defined as the first time step that is larger than or equal to tn. The definition of tn is: tn = t0 + n × DTAR, where t0 is the initial computation time, and n is the time step number.
Storage Frequency
You can force the saving of results by specifying an additional frequency of storage based on time step values.
Storage frequency of all Nodal Results (.SUB IA16) Sets the storage frequency for nodal results. For more information, see the IA16 parameters of the Samcef .SUBCASE command.
Storage frequency of all Element Results (.SUB IA4) Sets the storage frequency for element results. For more information, see the IA4 parameters of the Samcef .SUBCASE command.
Storage frequency of XY results (.SUB IA19) Sets the storage frequency for XY graph results.Note: The IA19 value must be less or equal to the IA16 one.For more information, see the IA19 parameters of the Samcef .SUBCASE command.
Storage State Variable
Saved Initial State Variable (.SUB IAR0) Specifies whether to save the initial state of the subcase. For more information, see the IA10 parameters of the Samcef .SUBCASE command.
Saved State Variable (.SUB IARE) Specifies when to save the state information of the subcase. You can save the state information at the each time step, or at the end of the subcase. For more information, see the IARE parameters of the Samcef .SUBCASE command.
Chaining Parameters
Generate Output for Modal Analysis Generates additional modal output results files that are required when you chain the following:A Modal Analysis with a Nonlinear Analysis using the Vibration modes around the instantaneous configuration chaining type.A Nonlinear Analysis with a Linear Transient Response Analysis or Linear Harmonic Response Analysis.
Load Case Definition for Dynamic Response Solution Appears when the Generate Output for Modal Analysis check box is selected.Specifies the units of time you want to use to set the value for saving results.
Load Case Definition for Dynamic Response Solution (n) Appears when the Generate Output for Modal Analysis check box is selected.Lets you enter add list of times that are used to define the load cases. When you chain a Linear Transient Response Analysis or Linear Harmonic Response Analysis to a Nonlinear Analysis, you must define an additional, non-zero load that is outside of the time intervals defined outside of the computation. For example, if the nonlinear subcase computation time is 0 to 10 seconds, you can add any time values that are greater than 10 seconds.
Generate Output for Standalone Buckling Analysis Generates additional standalone buckling results files that are required when you chain a Standalone Buckling Analysis with a Nonlinear Analysis and the chaining type is set to Incremental Stability Analysis.
