Surface-To-Surface Contact (Simcenter Samcef)

To define a general contact between two surfaces, use the Surface-To-Surface Contact simulation object.

If you select the Automatic Pairing type, you can set a grouping option and a distance tolerance that the software uses to select the surfaces that will enter into contact.

The Surface-To-Surface Contact dialog box defines a Samcef .MCT command. The contact also generates Samcef CONT elements.

Select the Show Ancillary Display check box to display the ancillary view of the contact constraint in the graphics window. The software launches the Samcef contact conditions quick solver to compute this view.

Supported analysis solutions

The Surface-To-Surface Contact simulation object is available for all structural Simcenter Samcef solutions.

Note:

In subcases of a Nonlinear solution, you cannot enable or disable a Surface-To-Surface Contact simulation object if this contact is a bidirectional one.
