FE Model Correlation and Update > Pre-test solution process
Pre-Test
Use the Pre-Test command to create the pre-test solution process and obtain optimal sensor and exciter locations for modal testing. The pre-test solution process finds these locations using the finite element model and a normal mode solution.
In the Pre-Test dialog box, you can:
Select the analysis solution and subcase that contain the normal mode shapes. The Analysis solution lists the solutions that are supported for pre-test planning.Note: When you edit a pre-test solution process, you cannot change the analysis solution but you can select a different subcase. To open a pre-test solution process that was saved in a release prior to Simcenter 3D 2021.1, containing a subcase without modes, you must edit the solution process and select a valid subcase.
Remove or add low-frequency modes and high-frequency modes by specifying a cutoff frequency.
When you create a new pre-test solution process, the software automatically creates the Pre-Test node in the Simulation Navigator panel. Under the Pre-Test node are modal representations of the analysis solution, sensor selection nodes, and exciter selection nodes.
