Add a new FEM to an assembly FEM
Right-click the assembly FEM in the Simulation Navigator and choose Add New Component.
In the New Part File dialog box, select a FEM template. To create a new subassembly FEM, select an Assembly fem template.
In the Name box, enter a unique file name.
If necessary, click Choose Directory to change the directory where the new file is stored.
Click OK.
In the New FEM dialog box, choose a CAD component part to base the new FEM on.Alternatively, clear the Associate to Master Part check box to create a non-geometry based FEM file, or click Open Part to browse for a part file using an alternate geometry representation. For more information about New FEM dialog box options, see New FEM/Edit FEM dialog box.
Click OK.In the Simulation Navigator, the FEM file appears as a child of the assembly FEM node. Assembly FEM A component FEM.The FEM is displayed in the graphics window.
If necessary, move the component FEM within the assembly.
To mesh the polygon geometry and define physical and material properties for the new FEM, right-click the component FEM node in the Simulation Navigator and choose Make Work Part. You can now create and edit FE data as usual.
