ATV response

In the Simcenter 3D Noise and Vibration environment, you can use the Acoustic Transfer (ATV) Response solution to compute vibro-acoustic responses of a model that contains all of the following:

  • An ATV Set (from a FEM or BEM analysis).Note: An ATV Set replaces a component or assembly FEM file that contains an acoustic domain mesh.

  • A FEM file that contains the structure.

  • A fluid-structure coupling definition.

  • Forcing frequencies.

  • Load recipe to create loads from data source files.Note: You use data source files from structural solutions that may contain frequency, order, or RPM data stored in a file in Nastran (.op2 or .pch) results files, Simcenter 3D HDF5 (.sc_h5) results files, and so on. However, data in time domain must be first converted to frequency domain data or waterfall of time data by using the Model and Loads Pre-processing solution process.

  • Visualization elements for post-processing.

The ATV response solution can efficiently compute vibro-acoustic pressure, structural panel contributions, ATV contributions, and other quantities in the context of one-way (weak) coupled interior or exterior vibro-acoustic problems.

Note:

ATV contribution results depend on several factors, especially fluid-structure coupling values.

You use the ATV Vibro-Acoustic Output Requests modeling object to specify the following types of results to recover from the ATV response solution and post-process them using the Scenario Based Data-Visualization Navigator:

  • Acoustic pressure

  • Acoustic intensity

  • Structural panel contributions

  • Equivalent radiated power

  • Element equivalent radiated power

You use this method, for example, to compute vibro-acoustic pressure in an automotive cabin that is excited by external loading, and when you are certain that the effect of the fluid on the structure is negligible.
