Displaying symmetric results
You can use the Set Result command to set up the display of cyclic symmetric or axisymmetric results in post views. If both types of results are available, such as from a Multiphysics analysis, you can display them in the same post view. When displaying both cyclic and axisymmetric results in a post view, the cyclic results define the axis of rotation.
Cyclic and axisymmetric results displayed in the same post view
When you use post-processing commands, such as the Identify command, to work with a post view that contains both cyclic and axisymmetric results, you can select and view both types of results. The status bar displays the type of symmetric results selected. In addition, the Identify command identifies both theta and sector IDs. If you display annotations, they display information appropriate for the type of symmetric results. For example, the annotations display the sector ID or the theta value.
Setting the display of the symmetric results
If symmetric results are available in a post view, the Edit Result dialog box contains a Set Symmetric Results button that opens a dialog box where you can set up the symmetric display. The title of the dialog box and its options change depending on the type of symmetric results available. For example, if both cyclic and axisymmetric results are available, the dialog box contains options for setting both their displays and its title changes to Cyclic and Axisymmetric Options.
If only one type of result is available, the dialog box contains only the appropriate options for the available results and its title reflects that. For example, if only axisymmetric results are available, the dialog box contains those options and its title is Axisymmetric Options.
