Meshing > Controlling local mesh density (Mesh Controls) > Biasing on Edge mesh controls
Create a Biasing on Edge density
Choose Home tab→Mesh group→Mesh Control .
From the Density Types list, select Biasing on Edge.
Click and select the edge or edges to which to apply the density.
Use the Bias Origin list to select the location on the edge where you would like the biasing to occur.
Enter the size of the elements to create along the selected edge or click Auto Size to have the software suggest a number of elements based on the surrounding geometry.
Specify the Bias Ratio to use to control the spacing between the nodes based on arc length. For example:If you select Center of Edge from the Bias Origin list and specify a Bias Ratio of 3, when you generate the mesh, the elements at the center of the edge will have approximately 3x the length of elements generated at the ends of the edge.If you select Center of Edge from the Bias Origin list and specify a Bias Ratio of 0.3, when you generate the mesh, the elements at the center of the edge will have approximately 1/3 the length of the elements generated at the ends of the edge.
If you selected either Start of Edge or End of Edge from the Bias Origin list, use the Edge Fraction box to enter the fraction of the total edge to which the software should apply the biasing.Enter the ratio of the total edge to which the software should apply the biasing. For example:If you enter a value of 1, the software applies the biasing to the entire edge.If you enter a value of .1, the software applies the biasing to 10% of the length of the edge and distributes the nodes uniformly along the remaining 90%.
Select Automatic to have the software automatically preview the nodal distribution along the selected edge each time you modify the selected options on the dialog box , or click Preview to manually preview the nodal distribution.
Click OK or Apply to create the edge density.
