Define initial conditions

  1. With a Simulation file active, create a solution with the analysis type set to Thermal, Flow, or Coupled Thermal-Flow.

  2. Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Initial Conditions .

  3. In the Initial Conditions dialog box, from the Type list, select the type of initial condition that you want to specify for your analysis.

  4. In the Region group, click Select Object and select the model geometry or elements for which you want to define initial conditions. If you selected the Initial Temperature type of initial condition, to define an initial temperature on a non-geometric element, do the following:In the Region Override group, select the Override Region check box. From the Non-Geometric Element list, select a non-geometric element modeling object, or click Create Modeling Object to create a non-geometric element modeling object.

  5. Specify the values for the initial conditions, depending on the Type option you selected.
