Superelement and DMIG representations > Superelements
Replace Base FEM components with superelements
Follow these steps to replace the base FEM component in an assembly FEM with a binary (.op2) external superelement representation.
Be sure that the target assembly FEM is the displayed part.
In the Simulation Navigator, right-click a component FEM and choose Edit Representation. The FE Model Component Representation dialog box is displayed.
From the Representation list, choose Nastran Standard Super Element:
Enter full path and file name of the file containing the superelement results, or click Browse to navigate to and select the file.
From the Display list, select the superelement display type:None — Displays only the boundary DOF nodes.Approximation of base FEM — Displays a transparent, non-selectable approximation of the FE model topology.Super Element Symbol — Displays a generic, symbolic representation of the superelement and its boundary DOF nodes.
Click OK.
