Superelement unit types (Simcenter Samcef)

When you edit the FE Model Occurrence Attributes of the component FEM and replace this FEM with a Simcenter Samcef superelement representation, the FEM unit types are inferred from the units types found in the superelement *.sdb database file that you specify in the Infers Relative Path property of the Superelement file group:

  • If no units are found in the superelement database, you must specify the Length and Mass unit types that you want to use.

  • If units are found in the superelement database, the Length and Mass unit types will be automatically populated by the units of the database. These database units will be used even if you modify the Length and Mass unit types before saving the modified attribute.

Note:

Time units always are seconds.
