Simcenter Samcef UMAT troubleshooting

Advices

This table list some of the advices to follow when you define a UMAT user-defined material. You can avoid some issues if you follow them.

The table refer to UMAT XML entries and definitions that you can find in Simcenter Samcef UMAT XML file.

Note:

In a XML file, all the definitions are case sensitive: the lookupKey="ElasticYoungModulus" and lookupKey="ElasticYoungmodulus" strings are different.

XML entry Advice
KeyPosIntID and lookupKey in the UserMaterialModel definition header. In the UserMaterialModel definition header, the KeyPosIntID and lookupKey entries must be unique among all the .umatx files that you build. The combination of these entries will uniquely identify your material.
ValidMaterial You can only add your user-defined parameters to a Isotropic, Anisotropic, Orthotropic, and Damage Interface material type. So, the valid keywords for this entry are:
CardPropertyMapping and lookupKey These two entities will define the material properties that will appear in the dialog box and in that order. This order will also be the order with which you will retrieve the USER values in the Samcef .MAT command. Each lookupKey must reference a valid property in the Properties section.

Issues

The Information Window and Log File can list one of the following issue.

Issue Description and solution
User parameter #%i (mapping order) not recognized for material %s. Please check your xml definition One of the lookupKey name set in the CardPropertyMapping entries is not defined in a property definition of the Properties section of the XML file.
