Understanding thickness source for 2D elements (Simcenter 3D Thermal/Flow, Electronic Systems Cooling, and Space Systems Thermal)

The information source for thickness of 2D thin shell meshes can be:

  • Defined by the user to a constant value creating a Thin Shell physical property. To use this option, on the mesh collector, set the Thin Shell Property option list to a Thin Shell physical property.

  • Inherited from the model, when you use a midsurface operation. To use this option, on the mesh collector, set the Thin Shell Property to None, and use the Mesh Associated Data.

  • Defined by the user specified with a field. To use this option, on the mesh collector, set the Thin Shell Property to None, and use the Mesh Associated Data.
