Convex Mesh dialog box

Selection
Select 2D Mesh Lets you select the 2D mesh around which to create the convex mesh.
Element Properties
Type Lets you select the type of linear, triangular 2D elements to create.
Mesh Parameters
Element Size Lets you specify the size of the elements to create in the convex mesh.To specify the element size as a function of frequency, click the DesignLogic list and select Function to use the SizeForAcoustics function. For more information, see Element size for acoustic analysis.
Automatic Element Size Examines the element size of the selected mesh and calculates an estimated size value. The Element Size box updates to show this value.
Offset Method Specifies how to offset the convex mesh from the underlying mesh.Distance Along NormalOffsets the convex mesh a specified distance along a vector that is normal to the underlying mesh.Scale FactorOffsets the convex mesh from the original mesh by a specified scale factor. The software scales the convex mesh by this factor to create a void space between the original mesh and the convex mesh.NoneCreates the convex mesh directly on top of the underlying mesh.
Offset Distance Available if Offset Method is set to Distance Along Normal.Specifies the distance to offset the convex mesh from the underlying mesh.To specify the offset distance as a function of frequency, click the DesignLogic list and select Function to use the SizeForAcoustics function. For more information, see Convex meshes for FEM acoustics analyses.
Scale Factor Available if Offset Method is set to Scale Factor.Specifies the factor by which to scale the convex mesh.
Infinite Plane Controls whether you define up to three infinite planes to define symmetry conditions for the mesh. When the software generates the convex mesh, it projects the mesh onto all the infinite planes that you define.
Trim Convex Mesh Available if the Infinite Plane check box is selected. If an infinite plane intersects the convex mesh, trims the convex mesh at the location where the intersection occurs.
Projection Tolerance Available if the Trim Convex Mesh check box is selected. The software projects nodes from the source mesh that lie within this distance of the infinite plane onto the plane.
Specify Plane Available if the Infinite Plane check box is selected.Lets you select or define up to three axis-aligned, orthogonal planes. As you create each infinite plane, the software adds them to the table. You can use the Create Plane and Delete Plane buttons to add and remove planes from the table.Because the selected planes must be orthogonal, after you add a plane to the table, that type of plane becomes insensitive in the Specify Plane list. For each plane you create, you can also specify a distance along that plane to create the infinite plane.
Create Plane Delete Plane Click Create Plane to add the plane to the list.Click Delete Plane to remove a selected plane form the list.
Distance Specifies the distance to create the infinite plane along the axis.
Destination Collector/Mesh
Automatic Creation Controls the creation of a mesh collector.Select the Automatic Creation check box to automatically create a new destination collector for the mesh. If you select this option, the software creates a collector using the default physical properties and inherits the material properties of the idealized part.Clear the Automatic Creation check box to choose an existing mesh collector from the Mesh Collector list.
Mesh Collector Lets you select an existing collector. Click New Collector to use the Mesh Collector dialog box to create additional mesh collectors. See Mesh collectors for more information.
Preview
Show Result Click Show Result to preview the mesh based on your current selections.
