Sensors

A sensor is a nodal location you define on the model where you want to see response function results. You can use one or more sensors to mimic a real-world test. For example, a sensor could represent the location of an accelerometer. Or you might have a part that has certain specifications, such as acceleration limits, at a specific location on the part. A sensor allows you to capture response results at that location.

Sensors allow you to capture these response types: Displacement, Velocity, Acceleration, and Reaction Force. Each node you select in your sensor definition generates a response function.

Sensors are stored with names that reflect the node and direction in which the sensor evaluates. For example, Sensor_1_2_(99X+)_1 represents the function 2 result for Sensor_1 at node 99 in the positive X direction.
