Create a laminate graphical report

This example shows how to create and graphically display laminate results using the laminate graphical report.

1. In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the laminate post report node and choose Create Graphical Report.The Graphical Report dialog box opens.

2. (Optional) Change the name of the laminate graphical report.The name is displayed in the Simulation Navigator as the node name for the laminate graphical report node.

3. On the Input page, select one of the following check boxes:To compute ply stresses, strains, failure indices, strength ratios, and margins of safety from the FEM’s laminate physical properties and the structural solver shell stress resultants, select Solver Shell Stress Resultants and, under Ply Stress Calculation Location, select the ply stress calculation locations.To compute ply failure indices, strength ratios, and margins of safety from the FEM’s laminate physical properties and the structural solver ply stresses and strains, select Solver Ply Stresses and Strains.

4. On the Output page, select one or more ply result types in the Select Result group.

5. (Optional) Change the value for the safety factor, the failure mode, or the ply export option in the Advanced Settings group.

6. On the Enveloping page, specify the enveloping type to view in the laminate results.

7. On the Report Options page, in the Report Object group, create or select a laminate report object that defines the elements and plies for the report.

8. (Optional) In the Failure Theory Override 1 and Failure Theory Override 2 groups, specify up to two ply failure theories and interlaminar failure theories to change the failure theories you defined in the FEM and compare the results.

9. Click OK.In the Simulation Navigator, the laminate graphical report node is created under the laminate post report node. Laminate Post Report 1 Graphical Report 1

10. Right-click the laminate graphical report node and choose Generate Result File.In the Simulation Navigator, the laminate graphical results node is created under the laminate graphical report node. Laminate Post Report 1 Graphical Report 1 Results

11. Double-click the Results node to load the results in the Post Processing Navigator.
