Reaction in output requests (Simcenter Samcef Structure)

Force and moment reaction

Result Simcenter Samcef codes
Force Reaction 223
Torque Reaction 224

These codes contain the full map of reactions at nodes, including zeros where there is no reaction.

The Force Reaction result contains three values in the global Cartesian coordinates: Fx, Fy, and Fz. In the Post Navigator, the result appears as the Reaction Force - Nodal result node.

The Torque Reaction result contains three values in the global Cartesian coordinates: Mx, My, and Mz. In the Post Navigator, the result appears as the Reaction Moment - Nodal result node.

Grid point reaction force/moment - nodal

Output request Simcenter Samcef codes
Grid Point Reaction Force/Moment - Nodal 221

This code only contains reactions on the nodes where there are reactions. For each node, it offers six values in the global Cartesian coordinates: Fx, Fy, Fz, Mx, My, and Mz. This code is not enabled by default in the Structural Linear Output Requests and Structural Non Linear Output Requests modeling objects.

In the Post Navigator, this result is represented in:

  • A Grid Point Reaction Force - Nodal result node that contains the Fx, Fy, and Fz values.

  • A Grid Point Reaction Moment - Nodal result node that contains the Mx, My, and Mz values.

You can request all these results in the Structural Linear Output Requests and Structural Non Linear Output Requests modeling objects. For more information, see Results codes in structural analyses (Simcenter Samcef Structure).
