Initial Stress/Strain dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Specifies how the initial stress or strain is defined.Apply to SelectionApplies the initial stress or strain to the selected elements. Element ID TableDefines a stress or strain field using an element ID table. Each row of the table contains an element ID and corresponding stress or strain magnitudes. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Load Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the load is stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical list of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Model Objects | |
| The following options appear when Type is set to Apply to Selection. | |
| Group Reference | Lets you apply the load to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the geometry or FEM entities on which the load will be applied. ExcludedLets you remove individual entities from within the selected object. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Components (Material Axes System) | |
| Tensor Type | Lets you select if you want to define Stress or Strain data. |
| SxxSyySzzSxySyz****Sxz | These options appear when Tensor Type is set to Stress.Lets you define the six initial stresses of the stress tensor. |
| ExxEyyEzzExyEyz****Exz | These options appear when Tensor Type is set to Strain.Lets you define the six initial strains of the strain tensor. |
| Self-Balancing | |
| Defined Data Is Self-Balanced | Nonlinear analysis only.Select this option if the initial stress or strain are in equilibrium.Note: If you clear this check box, you must select the Initial Static Computation (.ALGO IREF) check box in the Analysis page of the Nonlinear Analysis solution to ensure the equilibrium.See also Initial stress and strain (Simcenter Samcef). |
| Laminates Properties | |
| Ply Number (SPLY) | For composite elements, lets you specify the ply number on which you want to apply the initial stress or strain. |
| Card Name | Displays the name of the solver card this object writes to: .CLM. |
