MAT_SPOTWELD Additional Properties dialog box (LS-DYNA)

Use these options to define additional material properties for the LS-DYNA *MAT_SPOTWELD keyword when you create *CONTACT_SPOTWELD connections between parts. For more information, see the LS-DYNA Keyword User's Manual, Volume II, Material Models.

Name Defines the name of the modeling object.
Label Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object.
Properties
Card 1
Plastic hardening modulus (EH) Specifies the plastic hardening modulus (ET).
Time step size for mass scaling (DT) Specifies the time step size that the solver uses for mass scaling (Δt).
Failure time if nonzero (FAIL) Specifies the failure time. If you specify a value of 0, the software ignores this option.
Card 2Note: If you do not specify a value for an option, the software does not calculate failure due to that component.
Effective plastic strain in weld material at failure (EFAIL) Specifies the effective plastic strain in the weld material when failure occurs.
Axial force resultant (NRR) Specifies the axial force resultant value at failure.
Force resultant NrsF (NRS) Specifies the force resultant value at failure.
Force resultant NrtF at failure (NRT) Specifies the force resultant value at failure.
Torsional moment resultant MnF at failure (MRR) Specifies the torsional moment resultant value at failure.
Moment resultant MssF at failure (MSF) Specifies the torsional moment resultant value at failure.
Moment resultant MttF at failure (MTF) Specifies the moment resultant value at failure.
Number of force vectors stored for filtering (NF) Specifies the number of force vectors stored for filtering (for beam elements only).
