Database dialog box (LS-DYNA)
General options
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Defines the name of the modeling object. |
| Label | Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object. |
History tab options
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| *DATABASE_HISTORY | Lets you control the nodes and elements for which LS-DYNA reports results in the D3THDT binary history file and the NODOUT, ELOUT, and SPHOUT ASCII files. |
| BEAM | Outputs results for beam elements. |
| DISCRETE | Output results for discrete elements. |
| NODE | Output results for nodes. |
| SHELL | Output results for shell elements. |
| TSHELL | Output results for thick shell elements. |
| Select a Group containing all above items | Lets you select a group that contains the nodes and elements for which you want to output results. |
Binary tab options

| *DATABASE_BINARY | Lets you specify options that control the content LS-DYNA binary output files. |
| D3PLOT | Select this option to have LS-DYNA create a D3PLOT file during the solve. The D3PLOT file contains plotting information that allows you to plot data over the three dimensional geometry of the model. |
| Time Interval Between Outputs (DT) | Lets you specify the time interval between output in the D3PLOT file. |
| D3THDT | Select this option to have LS-DYNA create a D3THDT file during the solve. The D3THDT file contains time history data for element subsets as well as global information. |
| Time Interval Between Outputs (DT) | Lets you specify the time interval between output in the D3THDT file. |

| Number of shell integration points (MAXINT) | Specifies the number of shell integration points that LS-DYNA writes to the binary database. If you use the LS-DYNA default value of 3, then the software outputs results for the results for the top and bottom integration points, together with the results for the neutral axis.For more information, see *DATABASE_EXTENT in the LS-DYNA Keyword User’s Manual. |
| Dump strain tensors (STRFLG) | Controls whether LS-DYNA writes out strain tensors for solid, shell, and thick shell elements.For solid elements, LS-DYNA writes out a single strain tensor.For shell and thick shell elements, LS-DYNA writes out two tensors, one at the innermost integration point, and one at the outermost. |

| Number of beam integration points (BEAMIP) | Specifies the number of beam integration points for output.Note: This option does not apply to beams that use a resultant formulation. |
| Data compression to eliminate rigid body data (DCOMP) | Specifies whether LS-DYNA should compress data to eliminate rigid body modes. This option also controls how LS-DYNA compresses that data. |
| Output shell hourglass energy density (SHGE) | Controls how LS-DYNA outputs hourglass energy density data for shell elements. |
| Output shell element time step (STSSZ) | Controls whether LS-DYNA outputs the time step size, the output mass, and the added mass for shell elements. |

| Number of solid element integration points (NINTSLD) | Specifies the number of integration points for solid elements that LS-DYNA writes to the database. |
| Output peak pressure and surface energy for contact (PKP_SEN) | Controls whether LS-DYNA outputs the peak pressure and surface energy computed by each contact interfrace into the interface force database. |
| Peak pressure computation scale (SCLP) | Specifies a scaling parameter that LS-DYNA uses in the computation of the peak pressure. Typically, you should set this parameter to unity (the default), but it must be greater than 0. |
| Additional number of variables output as last history (HYDRO) | Specifies that LS-DYNA should output additional history variables that are useful to shock physics. LS-DYNA outputs these variables as the last history variables.If you select 1, LS-DYNA outputs the internal energy per reference volume, the reference volume, and the value of the bulk viscosity.If you select 2, LS-DYNA outputs the relative volume and current density. |
| Output nodal information for mass scaling (MSSCL) | Controls whether LS-DYNA outputs nodal information related to mass scaling into the D3PLOT database. You can only select this option if you also select the Time step for mass scaled solution option on the Time Step tab in the Controls modeling object dialog box. |
| Output thermal data to D3PLOT (THERM) | Controls whether LS-DYNA outputs thermal data to the d3plot file. |
| Output stress/strain at all integration points (INOUT) | Controls whether LS-DYNA outputs stress and/or strain data at all integration points for detailed element output in the ASCII file eloutdet. |
| Output extrapolated stress/strain at all integration points (NODOUT) | Controls whether LS-DYNA outputs extrapolated stress and/or strain data at connectivity nodes for detailed element output in the ASCII file eloutdet. |

| Time Interval Between Outputs (DT) | Specifies the time interval between output to the appropriate output file. |
| Flag for binary output (BINARY) | Controls whether LS-DYNA writes data to an ASCII file, to a binary database, or to both an ASCII file and a binary database. |
| Optional Load Curve | Lets you specify a field to define time interval between output. For this curve, the abscissa is time and the ordinate is time interval between the output. |
| Load Curve Options (IOOPT) | Controls the behavior of the plot frequency load curve.1) Load curve value added: At the time each plot is generated, LS-DYNA adds the load curve value to the current time to determine the next plot time.2) Next plot time computed: At the time each plot is generated, LS-DYNA adds the load curve value to the current time to determine the next plot time.3) Use load curve X axis: A plot is generated for each abscissa point in the load curve definition. The actual value of the load curve is ignored. |

| /Wall forces (DATABASE_RWFORC) | Select this option to have LS-DYNA create a RWFORC file during the solve. The RWFORC file is an ASCII format file that contains rigid wall force data. |

| Sliding interface energy (DATABASE_SLEOUT) | Outputs sliding interface energy data to the SLEOUT file. |
