Damping in structural elements (Simcenter Samcef)
In the Simcenter Samcef environment, in physical property tables, you can define Viscous Damping and Hysteretic Damping.
You can define damping in the following physical property tables of structural elements:
For 1D elements: Rod Propertyand Beam Property.
For 2D elements: Thin Shell, Laminate, Predefined Laminate, and Membrane Property.
For 3D elements: Solid Property and Solid Laminate.
For 2D axisymmetric, plane stress or plane strain elements: Axisymmetric Solid, Axisymmetric Shell, Axisymmetric Membrane, Shell 1D Plane, Membrane 1D Plane, Solid 2D Plane, and Plane Stress Rod.
For more information, see Damping (Simcenter Samcef).
For a list of the physical properties that are supported by the damping options, see Physical and element properties support (Simcenter Samcef).
