Define fluid-structure interface modeling parameters (Acoustics BEM)
You must define the interface between the fluid and the structure.
Choose Home tab → Properties group → Modeling Objects .Note: An indirect vibro-acoustic solution must be the active solution.Alternatively, click Create Modeling Object in the Vibro-Acoustic Coupling group of the indirect vibro-acoustic Solution dialog box.
In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, from the Type list, select Fluid-Structure Interface Modeling Parameters.
Click Create.
In the Fluid-Structure Interface Modeling Parameters dialog box, from the Type of Coupling list, select Effect of Structure on Fluid Only (WEAK).
In the Normal Search Distance box, type the normal search distance value and select the units.
In the Fluid Interface group, define the interface by fluid elements. From the Fluid Element Side list, select Top, Bottom or Top and Bottom to specify the side of the acoustic mesh for the fluid interface. From the Fluid Elements for the Interface list:Select All to specify all the fluid elements for the fluid interface.Select Specify Included Elements to specify the fluid elements to include in the interface.Specify the fluid elements in one of the following ways:By selecting existing group(s):In the Entity Selection group, select the Group Reference check box.See Create and manage groups for more details.By selecting the object:In the Entity Selection group, click Select Object and select the geometry or FE entity to which the parameters are to be applied.
In the Structural Interface group, from the Structural Elements for the Interface list define structural 2D shell elements or structural 3D element faces.Select All Structural 2D Elements to specify all the structural 2D shell/composite elements for the structural interface.Select Specify Included 2D Elements or 3D Element Faces to specify the structural 2D shell elements or the structural 3D element faces to include in the interface. You can specify the structural 2D shell elements or the structural 3D element faces either by group reference or by directly selecting the object.Repeat step 6 to define the remaining parameters.
Click OK to close the Fluid-Structure Interface Modeling Parameters dialog box.The defined fluid-structure interface modeling parameter appears in the Selection group table of the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box.
(Optional) Repeat steps 2-8 to define additional fluid-structure interface modeling parameters.
Click Close to complete the modeling parameter definition and close the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box.
Add the defined fluid-structure interface modeling parameters to the solution
Right-click an active indirect vibro-acoustic solution and choose Edit.
In the Solution dialog box, in the Vibro-Acoustic Coupling group, from theFluid-Structure Interface Modeling Parameters list, select the appropriate fluid-structure interface modeling parameters.
Click OK to close the Solution dialog box.
