Convection Properties dialog box (Flow/ESC/Multiphysics)

Option Description
Name Sets a meaningful name for the modeling object.
Label Sets a unique numeric identifier for the modeling object.
Description Sets a description for the modeling object.
Parameters
Heat Transfer Coefficient Specifies how the software determines the coefficient that controls convective heat transfer.AutomaticLets the solver determine the heat transfer coefficient during the solve. Use Automatic if the conditions are uncertain or mixed.Specify Bulk ValueUses a specified heat transfer coefficient. You specify the value in the Bulk Heat Transfer Coefficient box. Values for bulk heat transfer coefficients can be obtained from engineering handbooks or experimental data.No Convection - AdiabaticEliminates heat transfer by convection.
Thermal Turbulence Wall Function Appears when Heat Transfer Coefficient is set to Automatic.Specifies the correlation for the thermal turbulence wall function that predominates in the model.AutomaticLets the software determine the type of thermal turbulence wall function. The solver uses the forced convection correlation.Forced ConvectionSpecifies that the forced convection is predominant in your model.Natural ConvectionSpecifies that the natural convection is predominant in your model.
Use Heat Transfer Coefficient Multiplier Appears when Heat Transfer Coefficient is set to Automatic.Uses a multiplier to adjust the convection characteristics for different applications, such as cooling fins not modeled with part geometry.
Multiplier Appears when Use Heat Transfer Coefficient Multiplier is selected.Sets the multiplier value for the heat transfer coefficient.
