Save nodal force report results to a table field

You can output the results of a nodal force report to a table field. You can plot, edit, define spatial distribution boundary conditions, and export the table fields from nodal force report results like you do any table field. For information about fields, see Table fields.

Save a nodal force report as a table field

1. Set up a nodal force report.

2. In the Nodal Force Report dialog box, set the Create Output list to Create Field and click OK.

3. In the Create Table Field from Nodal Force Report dialog box, type a name for the field, and, optionally, specify a label and description.

4. Specify the independent domain depending on the results type.

5. Specify the dependent domain. To create a table field of force loads, select the Force check box.To create a table field of moment loads, select the Moment check box.

6. Click OK. The new field appears in the Simulation Navigator under the Fields container for the Simulation file.

Export a nodal report to a field (.fld) file

1. Set up a nodal force report.

2. In the Nodal Force Report dialog box, set the Create Output list to Export to Field File and click Apply.

3. In the Export Field File from Nodal Force Report dialog box, specify the independent domain depending on the results type.

4. Specify the dependent domain. To create a table field of force loads, select the Force check box.To create a table field of moment loads, select the Moment check box.

5. Click OK.

6. In the Nodal Force Report dialog box, navigate to the location for the file.

7. Type a name for the file and click OK. The software saves the field (.fld) file in the designated location.

8. Continue to create nodal force reports, or click Close to close the Nodal Force Report dialog box.
