Element Iterative Solver dialog box (Nastran)
| Name | Defines the name of the modeling object. |
|---|---|
| Label | Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object. |
| Properties | |
| Preconditioner Option | PRECOND field in the ITER bulk data entry. Controls the preconditioner used by the solver.Default is the standard preconditioning option for element iterative solver.PRIMAL is the optional preconditioning option for element iterative solver. This option may produce faster convergence for models which contain a large number of elements with bad aspect ratios. |
| Convergence Criterion | CONV field in the ITER bulk data entry. Controls the criteria the solver uses to determine convergence for the solution.ARGEAREX****GEEX |
| Message Flag | MSGFLG field in the ITER bulk data entry.Yes prints messages for each iteration. No prints only minimal messages. |
| Convergence Parameter Epsilon | ITSEPS field in the ITER bulk data entry. Controls when the solution terminates. See remark 5 for the ITER entry in the Simcenter Nastran Quick Reference Guide for more information. |
| Maximum Number of Iterations | ITSMAX field in the ITER bulk data entry. Specifies the maximum number of iterations the solver performs.Enter an integer greater than 0. The default number of iterations is N/4, where N is the number of rows in the matrix. |
| Singularity Tolerance | ZPIVOT field in the ITER bulk data entry. Adjusts the singularity tolerance during the preconditioner phase of an element iterative solution.Enter a real number. The default is 1.0e-9. When a Surface-to-Surface Contact (BCSET) or Surface-to-Surface Glue (BGSET) simulation object is included in the solution, the default is 1.0e-10. |
