Region (Rotor) dialog box (Simcenter Nastran)

Name
Name Defines the name of the rotor region.
Label Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the rotor region.
Rotor Objects (ROTORG)
Group Reference Lets you use a group to define a rotor. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you select the bodies, faces, edges, or nodes to define a rotor.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Parameters (ROTORD)
CSYS Specifies the Z-axis of the rotor. If Global, the Z-axis of the absolute coordinate system (Cartesian) is the axis of rotation for the rotor. If Cartesian, the Z-axis of a local Cartesian coordinate system is the axis of rotation for the rotor. If Cylindrical, the Z-axis of a local cylindrical coordinate system is the axis of rotation for the rotor. If Spherical, the Z-axis of a local spherical coordinate system is the axis of rotation for the rotor. For a spherical coordinate system, the Z-axis is implied from the definition of the spherical coordinates.
Rotation Speed Definition Specifies the method to determine the rotor speed. If Multiplier, the rotor speed is the product of the speed multiplier and the reference rotor speed. If Independent, the rotor speed is defined independently from other rotors, and is defined as a function of a rotation speed, frequency, or time sweeping parameter.
Speed Multiplier Appears when Rotation Speed Definition is set to Multiplier.Specifies the multiplier of the reference rotor speed.
Rotor Speed Appears when Rotation Speed Definition is set to Independent.Specifies the rotor speed as a constant value or as a function of the sweeping parameter.
Reference Frequency W3 Reference frequency to convert system-wide structural damping to viscous damping for elements comprising the rotor.
Reference Frequency W4 Reference frequency to convert element-specific structural damping to viscous damping for elements comprising the rotor.
Rotational Force Not available for SOL 414 Rotor Dynamics.Selects centrifugal inertia load for rotor from the load container.
BRGSET Bearing Objects
Group Reference Lets you use a group to define CBEAR bearing supports for a rotor. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you select the elements to define the CBEAR bearing supports.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Bearing End Objects (ROTORB) (Not available for SOL 414 Rotor Dynamics)
Group Reference Lets you use a group to define bearing support reference nodes for a rotor. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you select the bodies, faces, edges, or nodes to define the bearing support reference nodes.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Rotor Superelement Definition (ROTSE) (Not available for SOL 414 Rotor Dynamics)
Modal Reduction Type Lets you select real or complex modal reduction.
Real or Complex Lets you select or define the eigenvalue extraction parameters.
Group Reference Lets you use a group to define the nodes to retain after the modal reduction. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you select the nodes to retain after the modal reduction.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
These options are available when the speed multiplier is defined as Field.
Select Existing Field from List Lets you select an existing field.
Formula Constructor Lets you use a formula to construct a field. For more information, see Define a boundary condition using a formula field.
Table Constructor Lets you use a table to construct a field. For more information, see Define a boundary condition using a table field and Define a material property using a table field.
Link Constructor Lets you create a linked field from an existing field. For more information, see Linked Field dialog box.
Plot(XY) Plots the field as an XY graph. For more information, see Plot functions, Graph overview, and Edit display properties of graph objects.
