Time Sampling dialog box
For the particle tracing computation, you use this modeling object to specify a time sampling. You must specify a time sampling because the software computes particle trajectories by using a time integration of the particle velocities.
| Modeling Object | |
|---|---|
| Name | Defines the modeling object name. |
| Label | Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object. |
| Properties | |
| Description | Lets you enter a brief description. Click to open a text editor where you can enter a longer description. |
| Time Sampling | |
| Format | Lets you choose how to enter the time sampling. |
| Format | Specifies the form to use for the time sampling.Number of StepsLets you set values for Maximum Time and Number of Steps.Step ValueLets you set values for Maximum Time and Step Value. |
| Maximum Time | Enter a constant value or click for other magnitude options. Note: You must define the forcing frequencies with linear spacing and the frequency step less than or equal to the Maximum Time. For information about other magnitude options, see Additional magnitude options. |
| Number of Steps | Appears when Format is set to Number of Steps.Enter a constant value. |
| Step Value | Enter a constant value or click for other magnitude options. For information about other magnitude options, see Additional magnitude options. |
