Defining Residual Vector loads in a SOL 103 Real Eigenvalue solution

  1. In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the Simulation file and choose New SolutionSolution.

  2. In the Solution dialog box, from the Analysis Type list, select Structural or Vibro-Acoustic.

  3. Select the Solution Type list, select SOL 103 Real Eigenvalues and click Create Solution.

  4. Click OK.

  5. In the Solution Step dialog box, from the Step list, select Subcase - Normal Modes, Residual Vector Loads.

  6. Click Create Step.

  7. In the Solution Step dialog box, click OK.

  8. In the Simulation Navigator, expand the new Solution and if necessary, expand Subcase - Normal Modes, Residual Vector Loads.

  9. Right-click Loads and choose New Load SetFrequency Excitation Set.

  10. Select the load for the Frequency Excitation Setand click OK.

  11. Right-click the new Load Set, and select the desired load from the list.

  12. In the Loaddialog box, specify the settings for the force, displacement, velocity, or acceleration and so on. Click OK.

  13. In the Simulation Navigator right-click the Solution, and choose Solve, and then click OK.

  14. When the solution completes, close the Information windows.

  15. In the Post Processing Navigator load and display the results.
