Transient Durability Event dialog box

Option Description
Event Name Specifies the name of the transient event that appears in the Simulation Navigator under the Durability solution process node.
Transient Solution List Lets you select the structural analysis solution from which the transient event retrieves the stress and strain results.
Transient Solution Subcase List Lets you select the solution subcase or time step with the transient loads.
Use SORT2 Stress/Strain Data Appears for Simcenter Nastran SOL 103 Flexible Body with recovery option, SOL 109, and SOL 112.Calculates the durability results from the stress or strain results that are saved in the SORT2 format in the OP2 file. The OP2 file size must be less than 1 GB.When you create the Nastran solution, in the Output Request modeling object, from the Sorting list, select SORT2 to save the results in the SORT2 format.Caution: On a 32-bit machine, you can get out-of-memory errors for an OP2 file with the SORT2 format even if the file size is less than 1 GB. To test if the durability solver can read the SORT2 data, import the OP2 file in the XY Function Navigator.
MDF File Appears for Simcenter Nastran SOL 103 Flexible Body with export option.Lets you select the MDF file that stores the results from the multibody dynamics solver. The MDF file must correspond to the OP2 file from the transient solution you selected.
Static Offset Lets you select a static structural solution as the static offset for the transient durability event.

Strength, Fatigue, Axis Search, and Solve Options tabs

Option Description
Durability object list Lists all available durability objects. Select the object that you want to use with the current transient event. Strength, fatigue, axis search, and solve options durability objects are all listed on individual tabs.
Create Strength SettingsCreate Fatigue SettingsCreate Axis Search****Create Solve Options Let you create a durability object to use in the current transient event.
Edit Strength SettingsEdit Fatigue SettingsEdit Axis Search****Edit Solve Options Let you edit the selected durability object that you can then use in the current transient event.
Info Strength SettingsInfo Fatigue SettingsInfo Axis Search****Info Solve Options Display the settings information of the selected durability object, in the Information window.

Data Control tab

Option Description
Time Domain Specifies how the transient event time domain is determined. From Parent ResultsDetermines the start and end times of the transient durability event from the parent results file at the solve time.SpecifyLets you define the start and end times of the transient durability event.
Output Start Time Appears when Time Domain is set to Specify.Specifies the start time for the transient durability event.Note: Make sure that the start time is equal to or greater than the initial time of your transient solution.
Output End Time Appears when Time Domain is set to Specify.Specifies the end time for the transient durability event.Note: Make sure that the end time is equal to or lesser than the final time of your transient solution.
Decimation Order Specifies the time steps from which stress or strain results are taken. A decimation order of 1 means that the results are taken from every time step. A decimation order of 2 means that the results are taken from every other time step.
Peak Valley Tolerance Specifies the minimum amplitude tolerance when counting peak and valley pairs. This tolerance controls the minimum stress or strain amplitude that is computed by the rainflow counting algorithm.

Teamcenter Integration mode

The following options appear when running in Teamcenter Integration mode using the Teamcenter for Simulation data model.

MDF Model
MDF File Specifies if the MDF file is stored in Teamcenter or stored locally.
File Browser Lets you select the MDF file that stores the results from the multibody dynamics solver. The MDF file must correspond to the OP2 file from the transient solution you selected.
