Per Region report

Use the Per Region report type to generate a report on thermal solution data or 3D flow data for a specified region of your model. The software reports the data for each solution time step.

Thermal solution data

You can generate the following tables. In the Report dialog box, select the check box for the data you want.

  • The Temperature table lists the average, maximum, minimum temperatures, the difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures, and the temperature upper and lower limits.

  • The Heat Load table lists the total loads, the heat loads broken down in terms of planet plus radiation sources, albedo plus radiation sources, Sun, and other loads, and the percentage of the total heat load on the model.

  • The Heat Flux table lists the total flux and the heat fluxes broken down in terms of planet plus radiation sources, albedo plus radiation sources, Sun, and other fluxes.

  • The Properties table lists the total area, volume, mass and capacitance, and the average density, thickness of shell elements, emissivity, absorptivity, conductivity, and specific heat.

  • The Orbital and Source View Factors table lists the planet, Sun and albedo view factors.

  • The Phase Change table lists the average, maximum, and minimum qualities.

  • The Duct Flow table lists the average velocity, average Reynolds, average mass flow, average pressure, maximum pressure, and minimum pressure.

In all tables, Time indicates the time step of a transient run. For a steady state solution, this column is equal to zero.

Example:

This example shows a partial report for a solution that includes a Per Region type Report simulation object named ReportPerRegion. The tables display the data for only the first two time steps.

3D flow data

You can generate the following tables. In the Report dialog box, select the check box for the data you want.

  • The Velocity and Pressure table lists nodal average, maximum, and minimum velocity and pressure values.

  • The Gamma table lists indexes that measure the flow uniformity through flow boundary condition faces. A velocity gamma value of unity indicates that the flow is totally uniform.

  • The Fluid Temperature table lists the average, maximum, and minimum values for the fluid temperature.

  • The Turbulent table lists the average, maximum, and minimum values for the turbulent kinetic energy, TKE, and its dissipation rate, Epsilon.

  • The Mass and Volume Flow table lists the mass and volume flow through each flow boundary condition face.

  • The Heat Flow to Fluid table lists the amount of heat that is transferred between the thermal model elements and the 3D fluid elements for the walls in the specified regions.

In all tables, Time indicates the time step of a transient run. For a steady state solution, this column is equal to zero.

Example:

This example shows a report for a steady state solution that includes two Per Region type Report simulation objects named Inlet Report and Outlet Report.
