Glue Parameters–Linear Global dialog box (Simcenter Nastran)

Modeling Object
Name Defines the name of the modeling object.
Label Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object.
Properties
Glue Formulation GLUETYPE field in the BGPARM bulk data entry.Determines the type of glue connection.Select Weld-Like Connection to use the weld-like glue algorithm.Select Normal and Tangential Springs to use the spring-like glue algorithm.
Penalty Factor Units PENTYP field in the BGPARM bulk data entry.Controls how Simcenter Nastran calculates glue element stiffness.
Penalty Factor PENGLUE field in the BGPARM bulk data entry. If you choose Weld-Like Connection from the Alternate Glue Formulation list, lets you specify the penalty factor for the weld-like algorithm.
Penalty Normal Direction Appears if you select Normal and Tangential Springs from the Glue Formulation list.PENN field in the BGPARM bulk data entry.Specifies the penalty factor for the normal direction.
Penalty Tangential Direction Appears if you select Normal and Tangential Springs from the Glue Formulation list.PENNT field in the BGPARM bulk data entry.Specifies the penalty factor for the transverse direction.
Integration Order INTORD field in the BGPARM bulk data entry.Determines the number of glue points for a single element face on the source region.
Source Region Mesh REFINE field in the BGPARM bulk data entry.Controls whether Simcenter Nastran refines the mesh during the solution.
Export a Preview Bulk Data File PREVIEW field in the BGPARM bulk data entriesWrites out a bulk data file that contains dummy:Shell element entries for face locations.PLOTEL entries for edge locations.GRID, property, and material bulk data entries. When you import the preview file, the software uses these dummy entities to display the source and target locations for contact and glue conditions. For more information, see Previewing contact and glue element locations (Simcenter Nastran).
Edge-to-Surface Glue Stiffness Distribution on Glued Surface ESOPT field in the BGPARM bulk data entry.Changes how the edge-to-surface glue stiffness is distributed on the surface being glued. Strains Are Not Constrained: The strains in the plane of the surface being glued in the direction perpendicular to the edge are not constrained by the glue stiffness.Strains Are Constrained: The strains in the plane of the surface being glued on the area corresponding to the shell element thickness in the direction perpendicular to the edge, are constrained by the glue stiffness. This is the glue stiffness behavior that existed before NX Nastran 8.5.For more information, see Controlling the stiffness of edge-to-surface glue (Simcenter Nastran).
