Define a boundary condition using a field occurrence
This example shows you how to use a field occurrence to define a boundary condition. The field occurrence points to a field that resides in an assembly FEM file, subassembly FEM file, component FEM file, or FEM file.
When you use a field occurrence to define a boundary condition, the domains that you can select are filtered so that you can select only the domains that are appropriate for the boundary condition.
From the Home tab→Loads and Conditions group, select the boundary condition you want to apply, and in the graphics window, select the objects you want to apply it to.
In the boundary condition dialog box, if appears next to a box, click it, and choose Select Existing Field .
With the Fields dialog box open, select the field you want to use from one of the following locations:From the Simulation file, assembly FEM, subassembly FEM, or component FEM Fields node in the Simulation Navigator. From the graphics window. From the list of fields in the dialog box.
Click OK to close the Fields dialog box.
