Specify the output and plot SMT diagrams

Specify the output for the SMT diagrams

  1. In the Simulation Navigator, expand the Nodal Force Reports node.

  2. Hold the Ctrl key and select the nodal force reports on path from which to generate SMT diagrams. You must select more than one.

  3. Right-click the selection and choose Shear Moment Torque Diagrams.

  4. In the Shear Moment Torque Diagrams dialog box, if the solution has more than one subcase, in the Solution Step group, select the solution step from which to generate SMT diagrams.

  5. In the Graph Name Prefix box, type a prefix to use to identify the SMT diagrams.

  6. Select the check box for each shear force, axial force, bending moment, or torque to display in SMT diagrams.

  7. Click OK.The software creates an SMT diagram for each output force you selected. It stores them in the Post Processing Navigator in the Graphs node of the active solution results. Each diagram name begins with the prefix you specified.

Plot the SMT diagrams

  1. In the Post Processing Navigator, expand the Graphs node under the solution results.

  2. Right-click an SMT diagram and choose Plot.

  3. If the Viewport dialog bar appears:To display the graph in the main graphics window or a particular viewport, click Select Viewport by Cursor and click the main graphics window or viewport. To display the graph in a separate graph window, click Create New Window .
