Elements to Consider for Rib Detection
Select 2D Elements	Lets you select the set of 2D elements within which to search for ribs.
Element Labels	Lets you add elements to the selection.Use a space or comma to separate your entries.Use a colon or a dash to add a range of element labels.For example, enter 1:10 or 1-10 to add all the element labels from 1 to 10.Use colons to add an incremented range of element labels.For example, enter:1:9:2 to add element labels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.1:10:2 to add element labels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10.10:1:-2 to add element labels 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1.Press enter or click Select to add your entries.To edit your selection, click Edit Element Selection .
Rib Detection
Maximum Elements in Rib	Specifies the maximum number of elements that can be present in a group for the software to consider the group a rib. The software does not consider element groups that contain more elements than this value as ribs.
Maximum Rib Area	Specifies the maximum area for a rib. The software only considers groups of elements that have an area less than this value as ribs.
Minimum Percent of Rib Boundary Nodes	Lets you specify the minimum percentage of nodes that can be located along the outer edge of a rib. The software computes the total number of nodes in the entire rib, as well as the total number of nodes along the edges of the rib. If the percentage of nodes along the edges of the rib is smaller than this value, the software does not add the elements to the Rib List.
Detect Ribs	Evaluates the selected elements for ribs that meet the specified criteria. The software adds any identified ribs to the Rib List
Rib List
Rib List	Lists all identified ribs and information about them.
Create Groups	Creates a new group for each rib in the list. The group contains the 2D elements that comprise the rib. If you select this check box, the software does not delete any rib elements when you click OK or Apply.
