Type
Two Points Specifies a vector by selecting two points.
Element Face Normal Specifies a vector normal to a selected element face.
At Angle to Global XC Specifies a vector at an angle to the global XC axis in the XC-YC plane.
Global CSYS Direction Specifies a vector along an axis of the global coordinate system.
Work CSYS Direction Specifies a vector along an axis of the current work coordinate system (WCS).
Selected CSYS Direction Specifies a vector along an axis of a selected coordinate system. You can select a results coordinate system (if displayed) graphically from the active post view, or you can switch to the Simulation Navigator and select a model coordinate system from the CSYS folder.
By Coefficients Specifies a vector based on its IJK coefficients.
View Direction Specifies a vector normal to the current view.
Through Point
These options are available when the type is set to Two Points.
From Point Specifies a location that defines the vector origin.Select Node/LocationClick to graphically select a node or feature face location on the master post view.Node IDEnter a node ID and click to specify a node location.
To Point Specifies a location that defines the vector direction.Select Node/LocationClick to graphically select a node or feature face location on the master post view.Node IDEnter a node ID and click to specify a node location.
Locations Provides a means to key in coordinates that define the vector by points.Start LocationEnter XYZ coordinates with respect to the global coordinate system to define the vector origin.End LocationEnter XYZ coordinates with respect to the global coordinate system to define the vector direction.
faceGroup
This option is available when the type is set to Element Face Normal.
Select Element Face Click to graphically select an element on the master post view.
Angle to XC in XC-YC Plane
This option is available when Type is set to At Angle to Global XC.
Angle (Degree) Enter an angle in degrees.
Component Direction
This option is available when the type is set to Global CSYS Direction, Word CSYS Direction, or Selected CSYS Direction.
Specifies the coordinate system axis to define the vector origin and direction.
Vector Orientation
Reverse Direction Reverse the direction of the specified vector.
Coefficients and Origin
Vector Coefficients Enter IJK vector coefficients to define the orientation of the vector with respect to the selected coordinate system.
Origin Enter the XYZ coordinates of the vector origin.
Coefficients
Available when the type is set to By Coefficient.
Cartesian Enter IJK vector coefficients to define the orientation of the Cartesian coordinate system with respect to the selected coordinate system.
Spherical Enter Phi and Sigma coordinates to define the orientation of the spherical coordinate system with respect to the selected coordinate system.
