Constrained Joint Options (LS-DYNA)
| Modeling Object | |
|---|---|
| Name | Specifies the name of the modeling object. |
| Label | Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object. |
| Keyword Options | |
| Output to local coordinate (LOCAL) | Controls whether you can define additional options for the LOCAL keyword. |
| Define ID and heading (ID) | Controls whether you can define additional options for the ID keyword. |
| Define failure for penalty-based joints (FAILURE) | Controls whether you can define additional options for the FAILURE keyword. |
| Keyword Option LOCAL | |
| Rigid body or accelerometer ID (RAID) | Specifies the ID value of the associated rigid body or accelerometer. LS-DYNA outputs the force resultants in the local coordinate system of the rigid body or accelerometer. |
| Local system type (LST) | Specifies whether you are using a rigid body or accelerometer. |
| Keyword Option ID | |
| Joint heading (HEADING) | Lets you specify the ordinate and abscissa values. |
| Keyword Option FAILURE | |
| Coordinate system for resultants (CID) | Lets you select or specify the coordinate system for the resultants in the failure criteria. |
| Time for joint failure (TFAIL) | Lets you specify the time at which the joint fails.Note: If you do not specify a failure time, the joint never fails. |
| Coupling between force and moment (COUPL) | |
| **Axial force resultant at failure (NXX)****Force resultant at failure (NYY)**Axial force resultant at failure (NZZ) | Specifies the axial force resultant Nxx, Nyy, and Nzz at failure. If this value is zero, LS-DYNA does not consider failure due to the force component. |
| **Torsional moment resultant at failure (MXX)****Torsional moment resultant at failure (MYY)**Torsional moment resultant at failure (MZZ) | Specifies the torsional moment resultant Mxx, Myy, and Mzz at failure. If this value is zero, LS-DYNA does not consider failure due to the force component. |
Additional force and moment options
You can define the force and moment values with a constant value, an expression, or a field. You can:
Type a constant value directly in the box.
Type an expression directly in the box. As you begin to type the expression, tooltips provide hints about valid parameter names. If you type an invalid or incomplete expression, the icon appears next to the box.
Click and select from these options: Expression opens the Expressions dialog box, where you can select an existing expression or create a new one.For more information about expressions, see Expressions.Function opens the Insert Function dialog box, where you can select an existing function or define a new function.New Field→Table opens the Table Field dialog box, where you can define tabular data to construct a field. For more information, see Define a boundary condition using a table field and Define a material property using a table field.New Field→Link opens the Linked Field dialog box, where you can construct a linked field from an existing spatial field. For more information, see Linked Field dialog box.
For more information about other options in the list, see Additional magnitude options.
