Symmetric constraints

Symmetric constraints prevent out-of-plane displacements and in-plane rotations on planes of symmetry. To determine the DOFs to constrain:

1. Define the planes of symmetry.

2. Fix translations normal to each plane of symmetry.

3. If your model contains 1D or 2D elements, also fix the rotations that lie within each plane of symmetry.
