Bolt Preload dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)

Type
Type Controls the type of bolt preload to create:Force or Displacement on 1D Elements—Applies a load to a bolt that is modeled with 1D Bolt Connection elements.Force or Displacement on 3D Elements—Applies a load to a bolt that is modeled with 3D elements.
Name
Name Sets the name of the load that appears in the Simulation Navigator under the Load Container node.
Description Sets the description.
Destination Folder
Load Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the load will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. To view a hierarchical list of existing folders, click Folder Manager . To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Elements Selection
Appears when Type is set to Force or Displacement on 1D Elements.
Group Reference Lets you apply the load to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you select the objects on which the load will be applied.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Excluded Lets you remove individual entities from within the selected object.
Cutting Faces
Appears when Type is set to Force or Displacement on 3D Elements.
Group Reference Lets you select a cutting faces group. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you select the objects that define the cutting faces. Note: You must select the internal faces that define the cross section through the bolt.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Excluded Lets you remove individual entities from within the selected object.
Magnitude
Type Lets you specify the pre-tension type of values to apply to the bolt. You can choose between a Force or a Displacement type. For more information, see the Samcef .BOLT command.
Appears when the Magnitude type is set to Force.
Force Sets the force. For more information, see the LOAD parameter of the Samcef .BOLT command.
Appears when the Magnitude type is set to Displacement.
Displacement Sets the displacement. For more information, see the DEPL parameter of the Samcef .BOLT command.
Stiffness before Bolt Activation
Stiffness (KR) Sets the stiffness value before the bolt activation. For more information, see the KR parameter of the Samcef .BOLT command.
Pre-Tension Modeling Method
Appears when Type is set to Force or Displacement on 3D Elements.
Method Specifies the cutting method to split the solids along the bolt's cutting faces:**Contact (MCT)**Contact elements are created between the two cut parts.**Distance Sensor (SE3D+MEAN)**Mean interpolation elements are created between the two cut parts. For more information, see the METHOD parameter of the Samcef .BOLT command.
Sensor Position
Select Reference Position for the Sensor Lets you define select the reference position to compute the moment in the results.
Reference Position for the Sensor Appears when the Select Reference Position for the Sensor check box is selected.Defines the reference position for the sensor.
Cyclic Symmetry
Lets you define specific properties of the bolt when it belongs to a sector of cyclic symmetry model.
Stage Lets you define the stage to which the bolt belongs to.
Number of segments Lets you define the number of segments of that sector.
Output Requests
Bolt Results Lets you define bolt specific results. For more information, see the Samcef macro element for bolt page in the Simcenter Samcef solver documentation.
Card Name Displays the name of the solver card this object writes to: .BOLT LOAD/DEPL.
