Solid Laminate Modeler dialog box — Solver Properties group

Physical Property Table
Name Sets a name for the laminate.
Label Sets a label for the laminate.

Nastran solver

Properties
Damping Coefficient Sets a value for the damping coefficient of the laminate.
Inherited Stress or Strain Output Request Applicable only when Stacking Recipe is set to Inherited from layup in the Laminate Properties group.Writes ply stress and strain output to the***.f06** file and the ***.op2** file. Select this check box to display ply results in the Post Processing Navigator.
Output Format Specifies the Nastran card to which the software writes the laminate information. See PCOMPS and PSOLID for more information.PCOMPS exports the 3D laminate as layered properties.PSOLID exports the 3D laminate as unlayered, homogeneous properties with equivalent orthotropic materials. This card is suitable for balanced and symmetric laminates.

Simcenter 3D Multiphysics solver

Properties
Damping Coefficient Sets a value for the damping coefficient of the laminate that is exported to Simcenter Nastran.
Inherited Stress or Strain Output Request Writes ply stress and strain output to the ***.f06** file and the ***.op2** file to display ply results in the Post Processing Navigator.
Output Format Specifies the solid formulation output format when exporting the laminate to Simcenter Nastran and the thermal solver.LayeredExports the 3D laminate as layered properties. For Simcenter Nastran, this is the PCOMPS card.HomogeneousExports the 3D laminate as unlayered, homogeneous properties with equivalent isotropic, orthotropic, or anisotropic materials. This option is suitable for balanced and symmetric laminates. For Simcenter Nastran, this is the PSOLID card.
Thermo-Optical Properties
Radiation Activates radiation calculations for the solid elements.
Thermo-Optical Properties Available when the Radiation check box is selected.Specifies the thermo-optical properties for modeling radiation.Black BodyDefines an emissivity of 1.Thermo-Optical Properties Defines a constant or temperature-varying emissivity.Thermo-Optical Properties-AdvancedDefines the infrared and solar thermo-optical properties for modeling gray radiation or wavelength-dependent thermo-optical properties for modeling non-gray radiation.Select Black Body or a modeling object from the list, or click Open Manager to define a new modeling object.Click Edit to modify the specified modeling object.

Samcef solver

Properties
Damping coefficient Only appears in Structural analyses.Lets you define damping coefficient.
Non Local
Non Local Behavior Check this option to enable the Samcef non-local behavior. For more details, see Understanding the non-local behavior for solid laminates (Simcenter Samcef).
Thermodynamics Loads Appear if you check the Non Local Behavior option. Lets you define the non-local thermodynamic loads behavior.ContinuousThe forces are constant over the element thickness, linear over the element surface, and continuous from one element to the next one. Non ContinuousThe forces are constant over the element thickness, constant (1st degree element) or linear (2nd order element) over the element surface, and discontinuous from one element to the next element. LocalThe forces are computed in local version of the element.Fibershis version can be used only for the Enhanced UD Ply Damage material. There is a Continuous option for fiber damage and a Non Continuous option for the other damages.

Abaqus solver

Properties
Section Points Specifies calculation points for each ply in the normal direction. See Abaqus documentation for more information.
Specify Stack Direction Lets you specify the ply stacking direction. When you select this check box, specify the stack direction in the Stack Direction list. 1, 2, and 3 are the element directions. When you clear this check box, the stack direction is normal to the 2D element.See Abaqus documentation for more information.
Set Material Orientation Controls the creation of a laminate orientation.Select this check box to create a material orientation for the laminate.Clear this check box if material orientation is not necessary.
Material Orientation Type Specifies whether the solver uses the Cartesian, Cylindrical, or Spherical coordinate system.
Material Orientation Lets you specify or define the coordinate system to use for material orientation.Click CSYS Dialog to use the CSYS dialog box to create the coordinate system.
Output Format Specifies the solid formulation output format when exporting the laminate to the Abaqus solver.LayeredExports the 3D laminate as layered properties.HomogeneousExports the 3D laminate as unlayered, homogeneous properties with equivalent orthotropic materials. This option is suitable for balanced and symmetric laminates.See Abaqus documentation for more information.
