Bivariate fluid material properties

In the Fluid Material dialog box, you can make the following properties dependent on temperature and pressure:

  • Fluid density

  • Thermal conductivity

  • Specific heat

  • Dynamic viscosity

To make a property bivariate, see Define a bivariate fluid material property.

Each supported solver may interpret the material properties and independent variables differently.

In the Simcenter 3D Thermal/Flow and Simcenter 3D Electronic Systems Cooling solver environments, the flow solver also supports a thermal expansion coefficient that varies with temperature and pressure. You can define a variable thermal expansion coefficient through a Generic Entity type in the Advanced Controls simulation object and a CSV file.

For more information, see Define a bivariate fluid material property using a generic entity (legacy) and CSV file format for bivariate fluid material properties (legacy).
