Define a pressure load normal to 2D elements or 3D faces

The normal pressure load types let you define pressure normal to element faces.

  1. Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Load Type list→Pressure .

  2. In the Pressure dialog box, from the type list, select Normal pressure on 2D elements or 3D element faces, Normal pressure on 2D elements, or Axisymmetric Elements (Normal to Edge) XY (Abaqus).

  3. In the Model Objects group, click Select Object and select the geometry or FE entity on which to apply the pressure.

  4. In the Magnitude group, do one of the following to specify the magnitude of the pressure load.Type a constant value. To use an expression to define the magnitude, select Expression. For more information, see Expressions. To define a magnitude that varies with frequency, time, or temperature, select Field. For more information, see Using fields and expressions to define boundary conditions.

  5. Click OK.
