Creating nodes on a point, curve,or edge

Use the Node on Curve/Edge command to manually create a node or nodes on a point or along a selected edge or curve. The software provides limited geometry association for the nodes you create with this command.

Creating a node on a point

You can use the Node on Curve/Edge command to create a node on a specified point. You can select general points as well as snap points, such as center points. If the location of the point changes in the associated CAD part, then the software updates the location of the node.

Creating nodes along a curve or edge

You can use the Node on Curve/Edge command to create a node or nodes along a curve or edge. The nodes that you create are associated to the underlying edge or curve to the extent that if you select nodes by selecting an edge, the software selects any nodes created with Node on Curve/Edge. However, if the edge or curve changes during a geometry update, the software does not update the location of any nodes created with Node on Curve/Edge.

For example, in the following graphic, we selected a single curve (A) and then created five nodes along its length (B).
