Element Split and Attach dialog box

Type	Split OnlyCreates a line in the mesh but does not attach any elements to that line. Use this option to create a scar in a mesh.Split and AttachCreates a split line in a mesh and attaches a set of elements into that mesh.
Define Split Line
Define By	Element EdgesLets you define the split line by specifying a set of connected element edges.Two PointsAvailable if Type is set to Split Only.Lets you define the split line by specifying two points.Edge/CurveAvailable if Type is set to Split Only.Lets you define the split line by selecting an existing edge or curve.
Select Element Edges	Available if Define By is set to Element Edges.Lets you select the edges of the elements to connect to the target mesh.
Start Point/ End Point	Available if Type is set to Split Only and Define By is set to Edge/Curve.Lets you select or create two points to define the edge or curve that you want to project into the target mesh or target set of elements.
Select Edge/Curve	Available if Type is set to Split Only and Define By is set to Edge/Curve.Lets you select the edge or curve that you want to project into the selected mesh, meshes, or elements.
Split Size	Available if Type is set to Split Only and Define By is set to Two Points or Edge/Curve.Lets you define the length of the split line.
Target Element/Mesh
Select Element/Mesh	Lets you select either specific elements or one or more meshes to attach the new elements to.Tip: Select specific elements when you want to limit the area which the software remeshes after attaching the elements.
