SET_SEGMENT dialog box (LS-DYNA)

Modeling Object
Name Specifies the name of the modeling object.
Label Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object.
Properties
Description Lets you specify an optional description for the keyword.
Keyword Option
GENERAL Specifies that the segment is used in general contact analysis, in which the contact regions are identified only after LS-DYNA computes their location. For example, in a crash analysis, select this option to specify surface contact properties. LS-DYNA then generates contact regions where physical contact may occur.
COLLECT Lets you specify the segment ID.
Common Segment ID Available if you select the COLLECT check box.Defines a common ID value for the segment. When you solve the solution, the software combines all segment sets that share this same ID.
Default Attributes (DA)
DA1DA2DA3****DA4 Sets the default values for the first through fourth segment attributes.
Input 4 attributes per segment (A1,…,A4)
Segment Card2 Available if you select the COLLECT check box only.Lets you define a SET_SEGMENT (card2) modeling object that you can use to define attributes for known contact regions.
Input 7 attributes per segment (E1,…,E7)
Generalized Segment Card2 Available if you select the GENERAL check box.Lets you define a SET_SEGMENT_GENERAL (card2) modeling object that you can use to define options for general contact segments (Card 2 for the GENERAL keyword option).
