Quadrilateral Primitive dialog box (SST)
Quadrilateral primitive defined by points
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Element Type | Lists the supported 2D element types. |
| Destination Collector | |
| Mesh Collector | Lets you select an existing collector. Click New Collector to use the Mesh Collector dialog box to create additional mesh collectors. See Mesh collectors for more information. |
| Definition | |
| Point 1 / Point 2 / Point 3 / Point 4 | Lets you select or create a point to define the first, second, third and fourth points for the quadrilateral.Click Point Constructor to use the Point dialog box to create a new point. See Point dialog box for more information.Note: The order in which you select the points influences the order in which the software creates the elements as well as the orientation of the element. |
| Mesh Density | |
| Point 1 to 2 | Defines the number of elements along the edge of the Quadrilateral betweenPoint 1 and Point 2. The element sequence starts from Point 1 and traverses along the edge made by Point 1 and Point 2 till it reaches the edge made by Point 2 and Point 3. The software then begins creating the next layer of elements. |
| Point 1 to 4 | Defines the number of elements along the edge of the quadrilateral between Point 1 and Point 4. The number of elements defines the number of layers in the mesh. |
| Top side points clockwise P1 to P4 | Select the check box to reverse the direction of the surface normals of the 2D elements. The elements are oriented in the clockwise pattern and always starting from Point 1. |
