Request output of sum of nodal forces and moments at an integrated load point (Simcenter Nastran)

Create the monitor point request for summing nodal forces and moments around a specific point

1. Choose Home tab→Properties group→Modeling Objects .For information on applicable solutions, see Generating specific component output for elements and nodal sums of forces and moments (Simcenter Nastran).

2. In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, from the Type list, select Monitor Point - Sums Grid Point Forces.

3. Click Create.

4. In the Modeling Object group, enter a name and label to identify the monitor point modeling object in the Simulation Navigator.

5. In the Monitor Point Identification group, enter a name and label to identify the monitor point data. After the solution is solved, you can search for this name or label in the Simcenter Nastran .f06 file.

6. In the other Properties groups, select the appropriate properties or use the defaults, and select the nodes or elements to be processed and the specific point about which you want the forces and moments to be summed.For information on the properties, see Monitor Point - Sums Grid Point Forces dialog box (Simcenter Nastran).

7. Click OK to close the Monitor Point - Sums Grid Point Forces dialog box.The defined request is added to the Selection group table of the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box.

8. Click Close to complete the request definition for the monitor point and close the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box.The software places the Monitor Point - Sums Grid Point Forces object in the Modeling Objects container in the Simulation Navigator.

Turn on the monitor point request for summed nodal forces and moments in the solution

1. Right-click the active solution and choose Edit.

2. On the Case Control page, from the Monitor Point Type to Output list, select ALL.

3. (Optional) From the Monitor Points to Exclude list, select None or MONPNT2 to exclude any Monitor Point - Element Monitor modeling object.

4. On the Bulk Data page, click Create Integrated Load Monitor Points .

5. In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, in the Selection table, select the monitor point you want to add to the solution, and click Add .To select multiple monitor point modeling objects, hold Ctrl and click each monitor point.

6. Click Close to close the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, and click OK to close the Solution dialog box.

Turn off the monitor point request for summed nodal forces and moments in a subcase

Note:

The Monitor Point Type to Output setting on the Solution Step dialog box overrides the Monitor Point Type to Output setting on the Solution dialog box except for the Default option.

1. Right-click the active subcase and choose Edit.

2. From the Monitor Point Type to Output list, select NONE.

3. Click OK.
