Fan Noise dialog box

Name
Name Sets the name of the fan noise.
Description Sets description for the fan noise.
Destination Folder
Load Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which to store the fan noise source excitation. The list includes the root container and folders that you created using the New Folder command in the Load Container.
Folder Manager Displays a hierarchical list of folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Data Source
Select File Click Browse to open the Select File window and select the *.sc_h5 file which contains the fan blade excitations.
Subcase Specifies the subcase option. From Solution StepSelect this option when the *.sc_h5 file contains a single fan blade force excitation subcase.SpecifySelect this option when the *.sc_h5 file contains multiple frequency dependent force excitation subcases. You can enter the subcase ID in the Subcase ID field to select the load case for the acoustic analysis.
Subcase ID Appears when Subcase is set to Specify. You enter the specific loading condition subcase ID in the subcase ID field.
Data Set Displays loading condition of the *.sc_h5 file when you click Infer Data Set.
CSYS Selection
CSYS Inferred From FileThe software uses the fan location and axis from the input Data Source.AbsoluteYou specify the fan location and axis in absolute (X, Y, Z) coordinates.User DefinedYou specify the fan location and axis using dialog boxes and /or selection from the graphics window. To apply Fan phasing, you specify the fan blade initial angular location by selecting the CSYS and rotating the CSYS to the desired angle.
Fan Noise Parameters
Fan Noise Parameters Specifies the Fan Noise Parameters modeling object which defines acoustic parameters of the rotating fan.NoneThe software uses the fan location and axis from the input Data Source.User DefinedLocation: You specify the fan location and axis using dialog boxes and /or selection from the graphics window. For more information, see Fan Noise Parameters dialog box.
Fourier Transform Options
Window Type Specifies the type of windowing function to use with the selected input range to make it periodic.RectangularUse when the input signal is periodic within the chosen time segment, such as when you are analyzing special sinusoids whose frequencies coincide with obtained frequencies of the analyses. Fan rotation represents a complete fan revolution. Rectangular windowing is the preferred selection.HanningUse for general purposes.
Correction Mode Appears when Window Type is set to Hanning. The Correction Mode is automatically set to Amplitude.
Ancillary Display
Show Ancillary Display Select Show Ancillary Display to display the fan rotation direction arrows of the Simulation Object in the graphics window. Clear the check box to turn off the fan rotation direction arrows.
Refresh Ancillary Display. Displays the results of any changes you have made to the Fan Noise object.
Ancillary Display Options
Show Points****Point Color Select the Show Points to display the points in the Ancillary Display view.Use the Point Color color picker to select the points color.
Show Lines****Line Color Select the Show Lines to display the lines in the Ancillary Display view and to show the fan rotation direction.Use the Line Color color picker to select the line color.
Show Faces****Face Color Select the Show Faces to display the center of fan rotation and direction arrows in the Ancillary Display view.Use the Face Color color picker to select the face color.
Transparency Select Transparency to add transparency (translucency) to the view.Note: Transparency may not be available for all the Simulation Objects.
Show Text****Text Color Select Show Text to display information text in the Ancillary Display view. Text visibility will be dependent on the Boundary Condition Display dialog box.Use the Text Color color picker to select the text color.
