Target errors
Use the Calculate Errors command to compute the target errors considering the initial and current design variable values for all active targets. The computation uses the reduced system matrices.
The errors are calculated as follows:
Frequency target errors in percentage:where fwork,j and fref,k are the jth work frequency and the kth reference frequency of the target, respectively.
Shape target errors in percentage, depending on the target pairing:MAC:where MACjk is the MAC value of the target.X-Ortho:where Xjk is the cross-orthogonality value of the target.
Overall error for all frequency and/or mode shape target errors:where NT is the total number of targets.
To compute the initial target error values, the solver pairs work normal modes to reference normal modes using the target pairing. The frequency and mode shapes work results are computed using the initial design variable values and solving the initial reduced eigenvalue system matrices. These results are equivalent to taking the frequency and mode shape results directly from the work solution results and the reference solution results.
To compute the current target error values, the solver uses target pairing to pair work normal modes to reference normal modes. The frequency and mode shapes reference results are taken directly from the reference solution results. The frequency and mode shapes work results are computed using the current design variable values and solving the current reduced eigenvalue system matrices.
