Thermal fluid flow element (Simcenter Samcef)

Use this linear element to model 1-D heat transfer through a pipe (duct) element. The heat transfer includes the effects of conduction, capacity, and a transport term.

Physical properties

Property Description Simcenter Samcef commands and parameters
Fluid Material Element's material. You can only select a Fluid material. .AEL MAT
Area Cross-sectional surface of the fluid. .PHP SEC
Perimeter Wetted perimeter. .PHP PRM
Activate Capacity Term Select this check box on the Fluid Flow dialog box (Simcenter Samcef Thermal) to activate the capacity term.Note: If you clear this check box, the capacity term of the element formulation is discarded and the element uses a more classic advection-conduction formulation. In this case, you can add capacity through the Nodal Capacity element. .AEL THB
