Thermal fluid flow element (Simcenter Samcef)
Use this linear element to model 1-D heat transfer through a pipe (duct) element. The heat transfer includes the effects of conduction, capacity, and a transport term.
Physical properties
| Property | Description | Simcenter Samcef commands and parameters |
|---|---|---|
| Fluid Material | Element's material. You can only select a Fluid material. | .AEL MAT |
| Area | Cross-sectional surface of the fluid. | .PHP SEC |
| Perimeter | Wetted perimeter. | .PHP PRM |
| Activate Capacity Term | Select this check box on the Fluid Flow dialog box (Simcenter Samcef Thermal) to activate the capacity term.Note: If you clear this check box, the capacity term of the element formulation is discarded and the element uses a more classic advection-conduction formulation. In this case, you can add capacity through the Nodal Capacity element. | .AEL THB |
