Define the superelement reduction for a rotor

This procedure assumes that you defined at least one rotor in your rotor dynamics model.

  1. Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Simulation Object Type list→Rotor Dynamics Definition .

  2. In the Rotor Dynamics Definition dialog box, next to Rotor 1, click Create Region .

  3. In the Region dialog box, in the Rotor Superelement Definition (ROTSE) group, from the Modal Reduction Type list:For real modal reduction, choose Real.For complex modal reduction, choose Complex.

  4. In the Real or Complex row, click Create Modeling Object.For the Real row, the Real Eigenvalue - Lanczos dialog box opens.For the Complex row, the Complex Eigenvalue dialog box opens.

  5. In the Real Eigenvalue - Lanczos or Complex Eigenvalue dialog box, specify the modal reduction parameters.

  6. In the Real Eigenvalue - Lanczos or Complex Eigenvalue dialog box, click OK.

  7. In the Region dialog box, in the Rotor Superelement Definition (ROTSE) group, next to Select Object, click Rotor Objects (ROTSE) .

  8. In the graphics window, select the nodes to be retained after the reduction.

  9. In the Region dialog box, click OK.

  10. Repeat steps 2 through 9 to define the superelement reduction for other rotors.

  11. In the Rotor Dynamics Definition dialog box, click OK.
